NO MATTER HOW FAST AND CRAZY LIFE CAN BE ...... A GARDEN WILL ALWAYS BRING YOU BACK TO EARTH.
This week we had a quick visit up to Newcastle for our sons 22nd birthday. I still cannot believe how twenty two years have flown by! Just yesterday I was worrying about primary school homework, HSC..... now Nicko is working, going to uni, and teaching music . Blink and they are grown up people....just like that. Does time go faster as one gets older?
And when we catch up, the best times are had .....we generally always have a game (s) of pool (I won again by the way and let me tell you it's serious business, we are so competitive ) I get to do my victory lap around the table, much to Nick's embarrassment! We get to see grandparents, old school friends and his gorgeous girlfriend Grace......I treasure every moment. We also went to a seriously cool bar called Coal &Cedar and if you are ever visiting, book in for their amazing whisky degustations.
Had the best donut of my life.....gourmet handcrafted and that's what it tasted like!
Followed by my favourite coffee joint One Penny Black......seriously good coffee.
I love being close to the ocean as much as being in the garden ......
Then it's back home, and the birds are loving this birdbath..seriously people if you don't have a birdbath...get one. This was just one mornings worth of visits!
The blossoms on the street are just spectacular and people are now stopping in cars to take photos. Takes my breath away....
The Wisteria is just beautiful and the bees are humming like mad....
Started potting up succulents this week......that way I won't be a slave to watering pots over the hot summer months. Used up some old bonsai pots that I had sitting around in the shed. The pot on the far left are pups that I have picked from various gardens.....a work in progress.
Back in July I did a post on Succulents if you need a refresher.
Watch this space for updates on an upcoming succulent wreath making workshop with mrandmrsmunro to be held at A Year In My Garden....a collaboration of sorts.
Well they were the fun parts of my week......hope you all had a fantastic one!
