SATURDAYS WORKSHOP....YOU GET A LOVELY BUNCH OF GIRLS... A GREAT TEACHER... YUM FOOD = AMAZING DAY

The Succulent Wreath Workshop day dawned to beautiful blue skies.....forecast.....hot, windy and a storm in the afternoon. We setup under the shady trees......hoping for the best.

We even had our own fairy princess to wish us a happy day!

The ladies started arriving and we all got know one another.....very quickly. Women are social creatures and thrive in an environment like this. Being creative, sharing interesting stories and above all knowing how to have fun....

The vines took a bit of wrangling and wrestling.....

From twisty bits of vine....wreaths started to appear....

Brooke's teaching was relaxed and nurturing....giving guidance but yet allowing the ladies to get their own creativity flowing....

There was lots of laughing, chatting....more chatting...it was wonderful to see!

The sun shone.....and in the background the birds twittered...roosters crowed......soft laughter... it was just magical...

Brooke guided and helped throughout the morning....

Time for a break....it's hard work out there under the trees...I had originally set up under the Wisteria, but by lunch time the wind had whipped up and a quick reset was organised inside.

The succulent mini log planters were a big hit and will be on my online shop shortly! More on that later.......

Chorizo panfried with cumin seeds and chopped fresh parsley....the aroma was mouthwatering. Ricotta squares with lots of chopped fresh herbs and spinach.

I used what's in the garden...in season....and flowering...... that very day!

One of the dishes that I prepared was this salad.....lots of delicious edible flowers and greens from the veggie garden, guinea fowl eggs, goats cheese, crispy pancetta with a vincotto dressing.....colourful and a hit with ladies.

And yes, the weather bureau got it right! That storm did roll in and the workshop was moved to the verandah..... I call this, a progressive workshop.

This is when the wreaths started to take shape......the concentration was enormous....

I have to say I am the least "crafty" person on this planet. But I could definitely make one of these beauties....they were gorgeous. All were different....all had there makers personality....I loved each and every one.

Brooke and I would like to say thank you to all our ladies for making this such a fabulous and fun workshop. We will be organising another one real soon......

Stay tuned!
