NORTH COAST SOJOURN

I promise not to bore you with too many holiday snaps...... but if you are planning on heading up north, try and drop in to Nambucca Heads, Blue Water Brasserie... $38.00 seafood platter for 2!! Part of it, of course, served in a giant clam shell a la 70's to go with the 70's pricing!  Fabulous....... check out the view from up the road. No, this was not taken in the Whitsundays!

Yamba was looking good also....if it's great coffee you're after call in to Beachwood Cafe for a delicious cake or a yummo lunch.

We stayed at our lovely friends property who own a gorgeous Macadamia farm in Bangalow. Lots of lawn mowing here.... I will never complain again.

Gardens are lush.... tropical and colourful. See the bottom right flower it's a Cassia Fistula...and it attracts these amazing yellow butterflies. They are almost the same colour as the flowers....

When you see a large tree with the pendulous yellow racemes hanging down it is just breathtaking....

Big verandahs to take in that view....

A very, very serious game of Boules.... it's slow and leisurely, the perfect holiday game...we played as the sun set and cast it's golden light on us........

Gotta love a dog friendly house....poor Pierre had to stay home this time. Still a bit too boisterous. Although he wouldn't have been able to fit with all my luggage.... I cannot travel light... anyone else the same?

I did plenty of what that dog is doing in the middle...........

Lots of lovely walks to go on...rainbows and pretty light. It really looked like the Southern Highlands ...........except warmer.

And yes....even on holidays I like to tablescape and set the mood.. Our friends Susie and Stuart are such fantastic hosts....talk about eat and drink...

Then it was time to leave.....

Now here is the gardening bit.....sugar cane mulch.......photographed it and drove away.....

Heading back home we called into the Ulmurra Pub....and it's claim to fame....

Water dragon lizards in the beer garden..... I spent half my time looking under the table and letting out little screams every time one even looked at me....they hang around tables waiting for food. Forget it guys, nothing from me...

A great little stop off to have that obligatory driving break....crisp Pinot and Burger hit the spot.

Only a week away...a change of scenery, get out of the routine of home/work and we feel re-energised and relaxed ready for the road ahead in 2015.

Are you still on holidays or are you back into the grind? Is a week enough for you to replenish the soul?
