BOUNTIFUL HARVEST...

Bountiful Harvest

The only thing I didn’t grow in our garden was the watercress; this grows under a little walkway/bridge in our village. I combined it with Basil to make a pesto. Delicious!

The vegetable garden has now come into it’s own ……. the warmer weather has made all the difference.

Of course there was lots of watering, weeding, feeding, mulching …lots of “ING” to get to the bountiful harvest time …… We are now picking, eating, grilling, baking  and bottling…..this “ING” is my favourite bit! You know the old saying “you reap what you sow” well it’s certainly true in the world of gardening.

Feeding a veggie garden is so important and I love my GOGO Juice it contains live organisms all the yummy stuff for your plants and more importantly it feeds your soil at the same time. Its pro-biotic …..I call it yoghurt for the garden!

Look at the tomatoes!! Last year they struggled to get to this red deliciousness….

Ha! Smallest tomato..... believe it or not, actually ripened. Obviously I had not Go Go Juiced this one.

Deformed! Or as I call them, “REAL” vegetables. The odd carrot looking interesting and quite funny, with appendages sticking out at odd angles. This sometimes happens when I haven't thinned out the rows..... maybe going to the beach too often.

Zucchinis are cropping like mad and how wonderful is it that I can pick my Zucchini flowers for the freshest of the fresh flowers, ready for stuffing. Not having to pay $$$$ for semi wilted ones at the shops.

And so the cycle goes on…..  have to start thinking about what goes in the garden now ….here is the Diggers Growing Guide link for all weather zones.

Have you started thinking about next season yet?
