THE WEEK THAT WAS.......

Plums are my flavour of the week.......

Back on the 25th of January, I wrote about picking plums that were not quite ripe, and as you probably know, birds love picking over a good stone fruit. Well, it worked and the plums ripened beautifully.... they looked so pretty in the kitchen.... all piled high and smelling delicious. I checked them everyday, giving them a gentle squeeze and sniff.

For an extra treat a delicious plum pie was made with lots of help from my patient husband. Pastry and I.....lets leave it at that shall we...

Another exciting event happened outside of A Year In My Garden.....we attended a beautiful wedding.....put your hand up if you are a fan of weddings! Arth and I are such romantics and are known to shed a bit of a tear.

What I love these days, are the ideas that couples come up with to make their day a memorable event. I loved our invitation that came gift boxed with a link to their private webpage showing their journey of love.

It had been cloudy and there was even a bit of drizzle earlier....but as you can see beautiful blue skies...

A thoughtful touch for the ladies.....it was rather warm.

And of course the stunning flowers arrangements....

Flowers adorning hair and tables.....in a soft and dreamy colour palette.

All the guests were given hand picked books......a personal and sweet thought from the bride....which one was mine...Shakespeare of course.

Bells at Killcare was the fabulous venue.....the friendly and attentive staff...food...attention to detail...it was all there. Hey Arth wanna get married again? Renew the vows......

My heart skips a beat at such precise tablescaping.....

Even if you are not getting married you can dine in style....

Lots of beautiful beaches to visit....and there are lots of great walks to go on........Bouddi National Park is a must.

Has anyone used Air B&B? This was our first time and I have to say very very happy with the accommodation. How many time have you gone on to a site, got all excited by the photos....arrive...... and there is absolutely no resemblance to what you thought you had booked. Here is where we stayed..Ettalong Beach Apartments room 109 had this view.

As you can see.....

I'm a happy clam!

Ps I could have kicked myself a thousand times over this weekend.....forgot the camera equipment and had to use the iphone.... So if I look a bit grainy, that's why!
