Bonus of the week......
Our plumber, who just for the record, looks a bit like a Calvin Klein model, dropped one of these beauties off. He surfs, dives and lucky for us, shared some of his super fresh catch. To celebrate our cooktop being connected up on that very day......
A fancy shmancy retro Lobster Mornay was just the ticket!
Dairy Farmers I'm doing my bit....cheese, milk, butter. Don't get me started on that topic.
I have not had a Lobster Mornay in......I don't know how many years.
Exactly how I remembered them back in the day. ......a lava like bubbling cheesy bechamel sauce.
You want one now....I know it!
We have NBN and it has made such a difference with work, uploads, downloads just incredible! The only thing that it didn't do was reach up into the office area. I was told about a thing called a Wi-Fi extender which can easily be purchased from Officeworks and all is good in wi-fi land. This has to be the first move where we have not had a problem with Telstra. And we have done some moving!
Have I mentioned previously that I really hate foxes and curse the people that shipped them over from England for a spot of fox hunting.
We lost a couple of our girls during the week.....just a couple of piles of feathers were left behind. I get so sad when this happens.....
Spoke to one of our neighbours who happens to have 100 chooks and he swears by this predator deterrent FOXLIGHTS. I ordered online and it arrived in just a couple of day. Will let you know how it goes.
Gardening has taken a back seat with so much inside work to be done. To save time I have grouped all pots in a protected area near a tap, that way when I have to water they are all in one spot. Black plastic has been put down for the proposed veggie beds. When we get around to building them the grass will be dead and gone and if there are going to be some bits left nothing like lots of newspaper to finish the job.
Even with all the mess there is always a vase of pickings from the garden.
Picked up a pile of pallets and in my spare time will be constructing something for the office. Not sure how it will turn out but watch this space. Power tools are a girls best friend they make life so much easier.
Bathroom still under wraps.....still waiting for the glass delivery.
This pic was taken exactly one month ago today.
Today the first coat goes down!!!!
Pierre you have to move now....
Out of shot on the left are two very large panels covered in plastic and chip board....still waiting for that glass delivery. Window frames still have to be done but we are now on the home stretch. I feel that this week we have really turned that renovation corner.
As much as I hate painting this part has been the most satisfying and transformative.
We decided that rather than rip up the boards that we would coat the floors with a paving paint. Let me tell you a lot of research was done. It's always a bit of a worry when you have a big expanse of floor and halfway through decide...nuh don't like it or this is not going to work. Today it just so happened that I was reading the latest Country Style and one of the homes featured used paving paint on their boards but in black. On trend people!
Our backs are aching, we go to bed totally exhausted but in the scheme of things we consider ourselves pretty damn lucky..... life in reno land definitely has it's rewards.
I am dedicating this Hydrangea flower to very special friends of ours going through some tough times. We are thinking of you both......
